In 1699 a strange dragon was seen in a field close to the village.

Reportedly it had two rows of teeth and eyes as big as a sheep.

It disappeared without any trouble, but until the outbreak of World War II small dragons were sold at Henham Fair and a local brew called Snakebite was sold.
